Rates & Payment

RATES

My rate for a 50 minute session is $185.  Accepted forms of payment include check, cash, Venmo, all major credit cards, HSA and FSA.  Payment is expected at time of service.

In an effort to make therapy more accessible, I offer a limited number of reduced-rate slots through Open Path Collective. I am happy to discuss this option with you to support your financial needs.

INSURANCE

I am an out-of-network provider and do not directly bill insurance.  However, I can provide a monthly “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Choosing to work with an out-of-network allows me to customize treatment to best meet the needs of each individual and family. It also offers greater privacy and flexibility, as your therapy is not directed or limited by insurance requirements.

If you are interested in using insurance, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn about your out-of-network coverage.  Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance company:

  • Does my plan cover out-of-network mental health services?

  • What is my deductible for out-of-network benefits?

  • How many sessions does my insurance cover annually?

  • What is the coverage amount for each session?

  • Do I need approval from my primary care provider prior to receiving services?

  • Are there any exclusions for covered mental health diagnoses?

  • What information will I be required to provide when submitting for reimbursement?

Practice Policies

SCHEDULING AND CANCELLATIONS

All appointments are scheduled directly with me by phone, email, or by messaging me through the client portal.  It is your responsibility to make note of the day and time of your appointment.  Ongoing therapy appointments are generally scheduled weekly, recurring at the same day and time.  I require notice of at least 24 hours before your appointment time.  I will do my best to work with you to reschedule your appointment.

TELEHEALTH

Telehealth is available for most services in Colorado and New York.

CONSENT FOR SERVICES FOR CHILDREN

Parents or legal guardians must provide consent for treatment prior to scheduling a child’s initial intake session.  In cases of divorce or custody arrangements, consent from both parents/legal guardians is required before services can begin, unless there is legal documentation indicating that one parent has sole mental health decision-making authority.  In such cases, I require copies of custody orders and/or Allocation of Parental Responsibilities (APR), as applicable.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns about this policy.

Please note that I am not a Child and Family Investigator (CFI) and do not conduct Parental Responsibility Evaluations (PRE).  I do not provide custody evaluations, conduct investigations, or offer recommendations regarding custody, parental decision making, or parental fitness.

MEETING WITH PARENTS

Parent involvement is essential for lasting change. Parents are often invited into the playroom to participate in sessions with their child. I also meet regularly with parents for collateral sessions to discuss progress and concerns, review and adjust treatment goals, and address topics that may not be appropriate to discuss in the presence of children.  The frequency of collateral sessions varies based on each family’s unique needs and clinical considerations.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD’S CARE

I believe children thrive when the adults involved in their care are working together and communicating consistently.  With parental consent, I collaborate with teachers and school staff, developmental therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, physical therapists, child life specialists, pediatricians, and other professionals involved in a child’s care and education.  These partnerships support a more comprehensive understanding of your child’s needs and help promote stronger outcomes.

When appropriate, and in coordination with a child’s school, I am able to conduct classroom observations to better support parents, children, and their teachers.
